In the Chidzikwe region, another food distribution campaign will be launched in November. Alington Matsilele must submit applications to the relevant authorities. The administrative hurdles should not be underestimated. Food will also be distributed in the outskirts of Harare. Every euro helps to provide provisions for the many families.
Between April and June 2020, €32,000 was raised for this effort. A total of 2400 food parcels have been distributed to very needy families and elderly people in the countryside and in the townships on the outskirts of Harare. We were also able to support orphanages in Harare with food.
Since the lockdown still prevents people from following their normal daily routine and thus earning their living, the supply situation for many has become acute.
The continuing inflation of the national currency means that food is virtually unaffordable. The atmosphere in the country is very depressing. Hopelessness is spreading more and more.
That is why we want to bring a little hope to families by bringing them food.
A package worth around €15, consists of at least:
a sack of corn meal,
a bag of beans,
a bottle of oil,
soap,
sugar and salt.
