At the end of September 2019 there was a sewing competition for the whole of Zimbabwe. Grace, the sewing teacher, and Alington Matsilele, the headmaster, decided to take part with two students. They got to work, diligently designing and sewing. In the end, four excited people drove to the competition. In the area of textile design and technology, the school entered blouses, trousers and curtains. Chidzikwe Secondary School received the prize for the best secondary school outside the formally recognized schools! As the Minister of Education was present at the competition, Alington Matsilele hopes to have gained his attention to the school. Be that as it may, the exhibition generated may ideas of articles that can be sewn in the future and possibly also sold.
